I lost a good friend
I didn’t know him long
But I knew him well
He was disarmingly transparent, just Jack
Unpretentious, charitable and generous
A true Christian, that oft-claimed virtue
Too often lost on most
He was a good companion, honest and unassuming
A story teller, but also a good listener
A conveyer of virtue
Who inspired all around
I’ll miss him
His friendship and counsel
For knowing him, however short,
Has made me a better person
