Given the current state of American politics – a partisan polarized electorate, dysfunctional government and civic unrest – it’s time to plumb just where we are as a people and nation at this time. To this point our courts and elected officials have done little to help resolve the impasse where we find ourselves.
Eschewing partisanship, it is safe to say that Trump and the MAGA movement has been the dominant force driving our politics since 2016. These questions seek simply to make sense of what is going on as to people’s mindsets and to help understand the future as it unfolds. It is almost a given that the Democrats will campaign as usual with only changes in their leadership whereas the Republican landscape appears to be much more volatile and subject to dramatic changes, especially when Trump is no longer president.
As of this writing, Trump has a substantial record for voters to have a clear understanding of the man and his policies. These questions are directed exclusively at those who have supported Trump through two or more election cycles. The purpose is to gain an understanding of whether Trump supporters continue to be satisfied with Trump or, perhaps, are experiencing “buyer’s remorse” and whether they continue to support Trump or possibly have some reservations about the MAGA agenda.
It is my intention to write a follow-up blog that will help make sense of where the Trump electorate is at this juncture. YOUR NAME WILL BE CONFIDENTIAL AND NOT REVEALED.
And please remember, this is not about Democrats, no matter what their shortcomings might be or how disastrous their policies appear. Questions about the Democrats is the subject for another questionnaire
1. Do you generally vote Republican or Democrat?
2. Are you a conservative, libertarian or independent?
3. How many times did you vote for Trump?
4. Do you have reservations about current government policies, but still support Trump?
5. If your answer to the last question is “yes,” why do you
still support Trump?
