Footnotes left off yesterday’s posting, "The Genie and the Joker."

*The Joker, an infamous comic book character introduced in 1940s, was the arch villain in the BatMan stories. He was a sadistic psychopath who revelled in spreading chaos while seeking revenge against the establishment, most frequently depicted by BatMan and Gotham City.
**Note: Anyone who has ever stepped onto a college or university campus knows that they are places where all sorts of people come together, many from different backgrounds, to learn and share ideas. Often there are outspoken differences, sometimes leading to clashes which ideally further student understanding and education. It’s called “academic freedom.”
It’s interesting to observe that many of the critics in the Trump administration are graduates of the universities under attack for their alleged liberal indoctrination, but they, somehow, escaped the brainwashing they accuse the schools of perpetrating. How’s that?
