I just wanted you to know that I’m with you. I am on your side if you never want to visit the United States again, never buy another bottle of Jack Daniels, or even refuse to go to war with us, no matter how righteous the conflict. You have been insulted repeatedly, underappreciated and thrown under the bus by our fat bellied, orange haired, gas bag president. I’m stuck here, but you don’t have to take it.
Canada is a wonderful place and has everything it needs except warm weather November thru March. Otherwise you have been blessed with a bounty of natural resources, a beautiful topography, first-rate whiskies and beer and a population that has not lost its decency and sense of community. And during the winter months you can always use the United States as "fly-over country" on your way to Cancun, St. Bart’s or Costa Rica. You won’t see obnoxious Trump paraphernalia down there. When I can get away, I might even be able to meet you there to share a glass or two of Crown Royal.
And, perchance, for some bizarre reason you find yourself stranded down here harried by the Feds, I will hide you up at my mountain lair where you will be safe among the gun-toting locals who have no love for the "gobernant." Up at Potlatch we have our own water, unlimited firewood and a captive food source, if you know what I mean.
Anyway, I just wanted you to know that not all of us south of the 49th are nuts or mean spirited.
As a registered Canadian, I can say that we have enjoyed all of our trips into your country over the past 50 years. We find Americans friendly and have never encountered any issues. It is too bad what is happening between our counties and it is clear to us that most of it is due to your president. I hope over the next months, a solution is worked out, however I wonder if the world has a short time memory and everything will go back to where it was. Let’s hope we can still enjoy a glass together with our American friends in 2026.
Thanks George, let’s hope that things get better soon. Unde normal cirumstances there would have been a bi-partisan effort to impeach the president given his axtions during these first months of his administration.
