It’s never too late to be won over to new things, whatever they might be. I just had a conversion to G-R-A-N-O-L-A, something I routinely dissed for years as an affectation of preachy, overzealous tree-hugging health nuts. Not just any granola, but Outer Banks Granola (OBX Granola), a small batch enterprise from North Carolina that somehow took a ho-hum product and made it so tasty that we should all know about it.
I’m not sure how to describe it, other than to say it is delicious. It is made from regular stuff that I recognize as food, something that would find success for grazing at parties or even on the bar of your favorite watering hole. Good by the handfuls, it is equally good as toppings for assorted foods such as ice cream and, of course, as your morning cereal. There are several flavors, including my favorite: cranberries, honey sea salt and cinnamon pecan.
So there it is, some good news when we need it, something to chew on. Go to www.outerbanksgranola.com and see for yourself, try some and you will be hooked. Treat yourself.
