I just got back up to Potlatch a couple days ago and have been settling in doing chores and enjoying the beautiful fall weather. It\u2019s a good time to catch up and so I went into Dahlonega this morning to get my Covid booster shot at the local Walgreens.<\/p>\n

Since the Covid vaccines have become readily available, drug stores like Walgreens and CVS have done a wonderful job making the shots available to virtually everyone who is eligible. They have made it easy and effortless without the stress we all experienced trying to get access to the vaccines back in January and February. This morning the staff and pharmacists could not have been more cordial and helpful.<\/p>\n

I walked in without an appointment about 10:30 and was out the door before 11 o\u2019clock. The pharmacist was most reassuring and answered all my questions. Apparently, they had been swamped the previous afternoon, a sign that more and more people have decided to get the vaccine. In the waiting area people chatted with one another inquiring about which shots they were having and comparing notes on possible reactions. Interestingly, all were women of different ages. No men.<\/p>\n

Perhaps we are making progress, let\u2019s hope so!<\/p>\n

Postscript, October 3, 2021<\/p>\n

For the record, I got a significant reaction to the booster shot that lasted most of two days. I had had a slight reaction to the second Pfizer shot back in February, but nothing like this with severe aches and pains, chills and soreness of my arm and armpit.
