The trees and foliage have come out full force closing out the light and embracing the cabin. I look out the window into darkness this morning.<\/p>\n<p>The drive up yesterday from St. Simons was uneventful until I got to Athens where I ran into some of the worst rain that I\u2019ve experienced. It was a white knuckles time as I crawled with the traffic with the hazard lights flashing as I squinted to follow the highway lines. Later I learned that a tornado had touched down near Atlanta and killed one person.<\/p>\n<p>Lots of work ahead. The property looks a bit ragged with branches down, roads washed, and gardens in need of pruning and sprucing. With my late arrival, I am two weeks behind getting the flower beds ready and flowers planted. The place needs some color fast before the nurseries are picked over and out of plants.<\/p>\n<p>Nevertheless, it is wonderful to be here with the stillness and solitude. Somehow it works for me.
