A good friend, a poet, recently sent me this poem from a fellow poet, thinking it might be appropriate for the Potlatch Tertulia. Though the poem is ten years old, I think it speaks to us now and helps us understand what we might do during this time of national angst.<\/p>\n
Doing Nothing

When I passed him near the bus stop
\non Union Square while the cops
\ncuffed his hands behind his back, while he
\nsaid, \u201cI didn\u2019t do anything,\u201d
\nI didn\u2019t either,
\ndo anything but look away,
\na little afraid they might cuff me
\nif I paid too much attention,
\nand walked on still wondering
\nwhat he might\u2019ve done
\nand still more what I
\nmight\u2019ve done<\/p>\n
