Just published, <em>Heat Deflectors: And 99 Other stories <\/em>by Darryl Ponicsan offers up literary tapas, short, short stories that light up and probe human relationships.<\/p>\n<p>Ponicsan,* an award winning screenwriter and novelist, has assiduously written about ordinary people and those on the margins of society. His first two novels, <em>The Last Detail<\/em> and <em>Cinderella Liberty<\/em>, mined his experience in the navy. Both were made into films, the first, starring Jack Nicholson and the second, James Caan. He also writes mysteries under the pen name Anne Argula.
