I read the Wall Street Journal<\/em> every morning, it\u2019s an excellent newspaper. Each day I start by quickly glancing at the Journal<\/em> and the New York Times<\/em> to compare headlines and see how the two newspapers report developing stories. Both cover major events but frequently differ in their presentation by placement on the front page or nature of the headlines. Fair enough, they march to different political ideologies.<\/p>\n

This morning an opinion piece by Daniel Henninger entitled \u201cKilling Trump?\u201d struck me as being both outrageous and over the top even for the Journa<\/em>l. Even with the most casual reading, it reeked of disingenuity at best and recklessness at most. In short, Henninger blamed the Democrats for the recent assassination attempts and then proceeded to lump all their criticism of Trump since 2016 as provoking and inciting the present violence-prone state of our politics. The Journal<\/em> needs to get a grip<\/p>\n

Only the most uninformed among us do not know that things have changed since Donald Trump. Most of us, left and right, understand that Trump\u2019s actions and rhetoric have been largely responsible for the current political climate. And the Wall Street Journal<\/em> knows it. It is one thing to play politics and support Republican goals, it is quite another to support a candidate who presents a present danger to all Americans and to the very basic foundations of our nation\u2019s democracy and constitutional government. Blaming the Democrats for Donald Trump is irresponsible. Democrats are correctly scared of what might happen if he is re-elected and it is more than just a fright borne of losing the ideological battle.<\/p>\n

The Wall Street Journal<\/em> has a responsibility for the well being of its readers, for telling the truth and for doing the right thing regardless of consequences. If Journal<\/em> readers want \u201cred meat,\u201d they should watch Fox News.<\/em> They should not get it from a respected newspaper like the Journal.<\/p>\n
