Let\u2019s face it, Biden\u2019s odds of winning in November are getting worse with each passing day. And they were not that good before his meltdown during the debate if we are honest. It\u2019s a no brainer that the President should step down, relinquish his hold on his committed delegates from the primaries and enthusiastically support a fresh candidate chosen at the Democratic Convention next month.<\/p>\n
The electorate\u2019s anxiety and loss of confidence in him together with the increasing defection of leading Democrats has made him a \u201clame duck\u201d candidate unable to win. He has been publicly emasculated by both his own party at this point and by the relentlessly successful Republican campaign to discredit him and create doubt about his mental capacity.<\/p>\n
It\u2019s time to quit talking and do something. Democrats should adopt Congressman Clyburn\u2019s plan to hold a mini-primary at the national convention to nominate a new candidate. Mark Kelly, U. S. Senator from Arizona and husband of Gabby Giffords, would make an ideal candidate. He is the 60 year old former astronaut who won the special election to replace John McCain. Kelly, a fresh face without political baggage, is a moderate with impressive credentials that make him a hero, a \u201cman on horseback\u201d to ride to the rescue.
