Time flies, eh? Especially when you are old and have trouble remembering things. I believe it has been well over a year since I last took up the pen to scribble my thoughts for this blog. It\u2019s been too long – a task abandoned out of dismay and disgust – but I still have thoughts that need to get out.<\/p>\n
Our world seems to be entering a new Middle Ages where lawlessness, ignorance and violence threaten civility, decency and political order. The tragedies since 2016 continue unabated so that they challenge our credulity about who we are as a people.<\/p>\n
Most puzzling, perhaps, is that many of us continue to live well, unaffected by the tribulations of our time though we are bombarded daily with the facts by TV \u201ctalking Heads,\u201d newsprint and the ever expanding social media, twenty-four hours of incessant pronouncements and bickering.<\/p>\n
I don\u2019t know if I can rise to the challenge again, but I\u2019ll try.<\/p>\n
